Position: Elementary Assistant Principal (PreK-5)
Reports to: Principal; Superintendent
Required Qualifications: Valid North Dakota Elementary Teaching License, Elementary Administration Credential, and Approved Background Check
Preferred Qualifications: Elementary Classroom Teaching Experience (3-5 Years)

Goal: Assist with the administration of Kindred Elementary School
THE MAJOR DUTIES SHALL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
1. Student Management
Maintain a positive and safe school culture
Supervise and manage student arrival and dismissal
Supervise student behavior
Assist with the administration of school practices regarding student conduct and discipline
Assist in the development of student/staff policies, processes, and the student handbook
2. Leadership Resource
Be an active member of the school improvement committee and similar school leadership teams
Assist with systems for collecting and tracking data on school progress toward achievement of goals
Assist with MTSS and PBIS programs
3. Parent Resource
Communicate with parents and facilitate parent education about school matters
Facilitate parental involvement in support of the school
Help organize and facilitate school events that promote connections between the greater community, the school, and the district.
4. Staff/Administration Resource
Assist in the hiring of teaching and non-teaching staff
Observe and mentor teaching and non-teaching staff
Support teachers to create and sustain classroom management systems
Facilitate teacher focus on student learning, growth, and assessment
Assist in the effective creation and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs), 504 plans, and behavior plans
Assist in the planning and facilitation of staff meetings and faculty professional development
5. District Involvement
Attend meetings for district, school, facility, and parents as appropriate
Proactively and collaboratively address concerns identified by administration
Perform other related duties as required by principal and superintendent
Contract Length: Ten (10) Months
Assistant Principal - Negotiable
Dean of Students - Based on KPSD#2 Professional Negotiation Agreement with additional summer compensation
