Position Title: Pool Facility Supervisor
Location: Hulbert Aquatic Center
Department: Hulbert Aquatic Center
Reports To: Aquatics Director
Term: Ongoing 12-month position

SUMMARY: The Pool Facility Supervisor helps to facilitate logistics of swimming and diving events, special events, and ongoing programming as well as administrative duties for the Hulbert Aquatic Center. This state-of-the-art facility can hold up to 900 swimmers and 1,200 spectators and host national, state, regional, and collegiate swimming and diving events each year.
 
The regular work schedule is Monday- Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, but shifts often vary depending on events and facility needs. The facility is utilized any day of the week (Mon- Sun) with shifts ranging from as early as 5 AM to as late as 11 PM.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties may be assigned)
Collaboration:
Implements and coordinates all aspects of events, rentals, reservations, programs, and other event-related services at Hulbert Aquatic Center.
Assists the department with deposits of revenue according to fiscal policy, and completes refunds as necessary.
Attends and participates in staff meetings and staff training.
Develops positive, effective working relationships with learners and staff.
Communication:
Provides excellent customer service and professional communication in person, and via phone or email.
 
Provides appropriate and accurate information to patrons and guests and responds to inquiries for rentals and events in a timely manner. 
Reviews and responds to voicemails and emails daily.
Serves as a liaison between department staff and event organizers.
Connects and shares ideas through appropriate/applicable formats to express thoughts and ideas with integrity.

Responsibility:
Prepares facility for events and rentals including set up, tear down, and cleaning. Responsible for all aspects of the facility set-up.  Familiarity with all competitive pool configurations is essential.
Collects fees via online programs to maintain accurate records for reservations and events.
Generates invoices and ensures payment is rendered for all rentals within the established timeframe.
Ensures that the facility is maintained in excellent operating in accordance with local health department guidelines.
Manages concession stand and event staff/volunteers including inventory control.
Updates Hulbert Aquatic Center website and social media platforms.

The employee may be required to lift up to ~50 pounds.
The employee must work with the public and various WFPS staff while simultaneously managing several competing demands.
The employee will work in an environment that has a quiet to loud noise level.
The employee will infrequently be exposed to items of high or cold temperatures, chemical compounds, and/or sharp edges.
The employee may be in frequent to infrequent contact with slippery surfaces.
The employee may come in contact with bloodborne pathogens or other bodily fluids on rare occasions.
 
Education and/or Experience:
High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
Current certification in CPR and First Aid (Obtain within the first 6 months of employment) is required.
Current Certified Pool Operator (Obtain within the first 6 months of employment) is required.
Previous concession stand/Food Service experience is preferred.
Lifeguard certification and experience is preferred.
Previous facilities and special event management is preferred.
 
Language Skills:
Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions and short correspondences in the English language.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally, expressively, and reactively.

Adhere to the assigned work schedule by maintaining regular and punctual attendance.

Salary: Position follows the 2024-2025 Classified Salary Schedule at B211. Starting salary begins at $18.10-$19.90/hour, based on experience - https://www.west-fargo.k12.nd.us/departments/human-resources/salary
