Job Description:

Position Title: Administrative Assistant – Career and Technical Education
Location: Leidal Education Center (District Office)
Department: Career and Technical Education (CTE)
Reports To: Director of CTE
Term: Year-round position
Schedule: Mon-Fri. Part-time - Approx. 8-12pm.


SUMMARY: This position provides Administrative Assistant support to the West Fargo Public Schools and Cass County CTE Center Career & Technical Education Department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties may be assigned)
Collaboration:
Partners with Directors of Facilities and Career & Technical Education to coordinate department activities.
Develops positive, effective working relationships with learners and staff.
Communication:
Provides information to learners, staff, and public by answering questions and requests.
Handles telephone calls in a timely and efficient manner, delivers messages and/or directs calls to appropriate person as needed.
Assists Director of CTE with document creation, copying, Outlook scheduling, and general office duties.
Connects and shares ideas through appropriate/applicable formats to express thoughts and ideas with integrity.

Supports and maintains the continuous improvement of Career and Technical Education program operations.
Organizes and attends Cass County CTE Center meetings, serving as recorder for meeting minutes.

The employee may be required to lift up to ~30 pounds.
The employee must work with the public and various WFPS staff while simultaneously managing several competing demands.
The employee will work in an environment that has a quiet to loud noise level.
 
Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
Associate’s Degree or related education in office administration preferred.
Previous office management experience is preferred.
Understanding of Frontline, Applitrack, and ERP-Pro is preferred.
Effective technology skills - MS Office, Outlook, Excel skills for budgeting, Microsoft Teams, and willingness to learn new accounting and technology systems.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions and short correspondences in the English language.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally, expressively, and reactively.
 
Other Skills and Abilities:
Exercise confidentiality, discretion, and good judgement.
Adhere to the assigned work schedule by maintaining regular and punctual attendance.

Salary: Position follows the  2024-2025 Classified Salary Schedule at B214. Starting salary begins at $19-$20.80/hour, based on experience - https://www.west-fargo.k12.nd.us/departments/human-resources/salary
