Job Description:
Bismarck Public Schools is hiring AVID Tutors for the Fall Semester of the 2024-25 school year.
Must be age 16 and older. High School students are encouraged to apply.
Tutors are key to the success of the AVID program. AVID tutors from colleges and universities are trained to use specific teaching methodologies and materials to facilitate the AVID tutorial process. Tutors work with AVID students in tutorial groups, assisting in all academic areas to make progress towards college readiness. AVID tutorials occur in small groups (7:1 student to tutor ratio). Tutors lead tutorial sessions through inquiry and collaboration to help students determine answers to their questions on their own and by working with fellow students.
Qualifications:
Current AVID elective student, college student, or college graduate with a drive to help all students succeed.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
AVID tutors are motivated, organized, responsible, successful individuals who believe all students can succeed. AVID tutors work in a supportive manner with secondary students (middle and high school), district, and campus personnel. AVID tutors serve as tutorial facilitators and do not act in a teacher or substitute teacher capacity. AVID tutors will need to complete required training to participate in this program.
Primary Location -District Wide
Salary Range -$13.26 - $13.26 / Per Hour
