Job Description:
Legacy High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Boys Swimming and Diving Coach to lead and develop our student-athletes in the swimming and diving program. The coach will be responsible for creating a positive, competitive, and educational environment that fosters personal growth, team spirit, and a commitment to excellence. This role involves planning and conducting practices, developing individual and team skills, and overseeing all aspects of the boys’ swimming and diving team.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Leadership: Lead the boys swimming and diving program, including practice planning, skill development, and performance strategies to achieve team goals.
Coaching & Development: Instruct student-athletes on the rules and techniques of swimming and diving, emphasizing teamwork, sportsmanship, and safety.
Practice Management: Organize and conduct regular practice sessions, conditioning programs, and meets. Adapt coaching methods to meet the varying needs and abilities of student-athletes.
Competition Preparation: Develop meet strategies, set line-ups, and prepare athletes for competition. Attend all meets and ensure the team adheres to all school and league rules.
Mentorship: Serve as a positive role model, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment that promotes personal growth, self-discipline, and confidence in athletes.
Administrative Duties: Manage team logistics, including scheduling practices and meets, coordinating travel (if applicable), maintaining equipment, and communicating with parents, athletes, and school staff.
Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to all school, league, and state athletic association policies, including those related to safety, conduct, and eligibility.
Team Promotion: Collaborate with the athletic department to promote the program through school media, social media, and community outreach.

Salary Range -$5,722.00 - $7,725.00 / Per Year
Shift Type -Part-Time
Please note - Coaches who hold a ND teaching license - wages are reportable to the North Dakota Teacher's Fund for Retirement (TFFR). The employee (coach) will contribute 11.75% of their salary and the District will contribute 12.75%.
