SUMMARY
Under basic supervision, performs basic office clerical and administrative support functions, monitors and assists students in Time-Out, and provides customer services for students and the general public.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Provides customer service, information, and assistance to students and visitors; greets visitors and answers phone calls; duties may vary according to job assignment.
Monitors and assists students placed in Time-Out for rules infractions; cross-trains in a variety of MPS functions, and assists staff as directed.
Provides a variety of clerical and office assistance duties; makes and distributes copies; processes mail, documents, correspondence, invoices, and other materials; schedules meetings and rooms.
Updates and maintains a variety of electronic and paper files, records, reports and documents.
Supports the relationship between the Minot Public School District and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with clients, visitors, and District staff; maintains absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, client records, and District information; follows compliance rules governing child abuse; performs related duties as required or assigned.
Education, Training and Experience Guidelines
High School Diploma or GED equivalent; AND one year of clerical and computer experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Knowledge of:
MPS policies and procedures.
Principles of record keeping and records management.
Business computers and specialized software applications.
Skill in:
Entering data into a computer system with speed and accuracy.
Following detailed instructions required for maintenance of accurate technical records.
Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with co-workers.
Communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
A valid North Dakota State Driver’s License may be required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in a standard office environment.
This position is subject to veteran's preference.

Salary Range -$16.43 - $16.43 / Per Hour
