Job Description:

Contract Dates: 2024 - 2025 school year.

Position Summary:
This position is responsible for developing and organizing fitness activities at Mandan Middle School.
 
Essential Functions:

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Plan and Organize Fitness Activities: Develop a schedule of diverse fitness activities, workouts, and challenges suitable for middle school students, focusing on fun, engagement, and physical development.
Supervise and Ensure Safety: Oversee students during fitness sessions, ensuring that all activities are performed safely, equipment is used correctly, and proper warm-up and cool-down routines are followed.
Promote Physical Health and Wellness: Educate students about the importance of physical activity, healthy lifestyles, proper nutrition, and wellness, promoting lifelong healthy habits.
Create an inclusive environment where students of all fitness levels feel encouraged and supported. Adapt activities to ensure participation by students with varying abilities.
Encourage Teamwork and Sportsmanship: Reinforce teamwork, cooperation, and respect during all activities. Promote positive social interactions and peer encouragement.
Monitor Student Progress: Track individual and group progress in fitness skills, stamina, and health goals. Provide feedback and set achievable fitness objectives.
Coordinate with School Administration: Maintain open communication with school staff, ensuring alignment with the school's extracurricular goals and policies. Provide updates on student participation and program outcomes.
Maintain Equipment and Resources: Ensure all fitness equipment is properly maintained, organized, and safely stored. Request new materials or equipment as needed.
Promote Club Membership: Actively recruit new members to the fitness club through school announcements and flyers, and by creating an inviting and supportive atmosphere for new participants.

Minimum Qualifications:
Experience in fitness training, or coaching, preferably with middle school-aged students.
Ability to create inclusive, engaging, and age-appropriate fitness programs.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
