Job Description:
Site Cook at Wahpeton Elementary School- 6.5 Hours/Day
7:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. when school is in session
Under the general supervision of the Nutrition Service Director, the Site Cook assists in the daily operation of the school nutrition programs.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
• Prep and cook breakfast and lunch by the heat and serve method
• Cashier during breakfast and lunch runs
• Basic weekly inventory
• Placing weekly ala carte and milk orders
• Serve/Fill the lunch lines
• Cooking for special diets
• Clean/Sanitize work area and kitchen equipment
• Washing dishes
• Other assigned duties as needed
HOURS OF WORK: 9 months (school term) & varies per individual. Monday-Friday. Special events, as needed. May work additional hours with prior approval only.
DRESS CODE: Appropriate Street clothes, hair restraints, comfortable close-toed shoes, and limited jewelry. No nail polish, sweatpants, yoga pants, or tank tops.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF THE JOB:
• Position requires majority of time standing and walking. Must be able to climb a step stool or ladder.
• Position requires repeated bending, stooping, lifting, and constant repetitive use of fingers, hands, and wrist in moving
pans horizontally. Requires effort on a consistent basis as in lifting, pulling, or pushing loads (heavy, bulky, awkward).
Complete range of motion is required.
• Pans and food containers will weigh up to 50 pounds (including food items) and may have to be lifted in a range from a
lower to higher position or moving and balancing objects horizontally from position to position.
• Position requires effective verbal communication. Must be able to see and hear.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience:
• Math skills of adding, subtracting, multiple, and divide.
• Communication skills that promote a positive work environment and excellent customer service with a how can I help attitude
Starting Wage $15.00/Hour
