POSITION: Turtle Mountain Community High School Special Education Paraprofessional
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: School Year 2024/2025
LOCATION: Turtle Mountain Community High School
EVALUATION: As required by NDSCC and Belcourt School District #7 policy
Position Overview
The Special Education Paraprofessional will support teachers in instructing and managing students enrolled in special education programs, ensuring a positive educational and social experience aligned with Individual Education Plans (IEP).
Qualifications
Education: Minimum of 48 college credits.
Certification/Licenses/Endorsements
North Dakota DPI Paraprofessional Certificate of Completion
Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s Degree
Job Expectations
Assist teachers and staff in classroom management and student supervision.
Provide instructional support, including one-on-one and group assistance.
Assist in maintaining records (e.g., attendance, grades).
Support students’ adaptive learning needs, self-help skills, and use of assistive devices as outlined in IEPs.

Dependable, punctual, and able to foster positive relationships.
Conducts oneself as a role model for students, demonstrating lawfulness, ethical behavior, and good moral character.
Communication Skills
Demonstrates respectful communication with students, parents, and staff.
Able to understand and convey instructions, prepare reports, and complete written communications clearly.
Computer Skills
Proficient in using web browsers, email, and office applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Suite).
Able to operate and navigate web-based applications and educational software.
Responsible to
Special Education Director and assigned teacher.

RANGE OF SALARY: Based on S2 Salary Schedule 2024/2025
