Job Description:

Jamestown Public Schools is looking to hire a JVCTC FACS Teacher/Child Care Supervisor for the 2025-2026 School Year. 

JVCTC FACS TEACHER/ CHILD CARE SUPERVISOR

REPORTS TO: JVCTC Director/Assistant Director

SUPERVISES: Assists Director in supervision of Paraprofessionals, Paraeducators, Volunteers, & Substitutes

SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the JVCTC Director/Assistant Director, the FACS Teacher teaches child care and development classes and serves as the assistant director/supervisor of the Little Blue Jay’s Nest on-site Child Care.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Meet one of the qualifications in the North Dakota Early Childhood Services Rule (https://ndlegis.gov/information/acdata/pdf/75-03-10.pdf)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal relations skills with high attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
CPR Certification for Adults, Children, and Infants with AED Certification, or willingness to obtain upon hire
First Aid Certification, or willingness to obtain upon hire
Completion of ND Growing Futures Getting Started Modules, or willingness to obtain upon hire
Completion of ND Growing Futures Safe Sleep Module, or willingness to obtain upon hire
Must pass a background check every five years
Hold or be able to obtain a current ND Educator License and obtain FACS certification

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
SKILLS
The ability to work effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, and opinions in a professional, timely manner.
Experience in supervising staff and enforcing and maintaining confidentiality with information.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications and other communication platforms.
Experience in effectively managing a budget, grant writing skills, and giving input on policy development.
Create and implement curriculum for courses following ND State Content Standards for JVCTC High School Student Classes

Responsibilities- Assist Director with:
Implementation and supervision of the day-to-day operations
Maintains program spaces in an engaging, developmentally appropriate and orderly manner
Purchase program supplies, equipment, and materials
Operates program in conformity with state/county licensing and agency regulations
Maintains and monitors program enrollments
Conducts program tours and periodic open house events as scheduled
Maintains accurate and complete records required by state/county licensing, food programs, and Child Care Assistance
Participates in the writing of and operates with the programs’ annual budget
Develops and implements an age-appropriate program curriculum
Plans and conducts parent involvement events
Provide coverage within classrooms as needed in ratios
Takes an active role in planning program promotion and publicity
Providing feedback, coaching, guidance and support
Creation and maintenance of communication platforms

SUPERVISORY DUTIES
Assists in training new staff.
Reviews work time of staff for accuracy and submits to payroll by deadline
Provides comprehensive Annual Performance Reviews to staff by deadline
Provides feedback and performance improvement guidelines to staff as needed
Ensures required licensure of staff is up to date
Attends regular staff meeting
Has positive, open communication with staff and serves as a resource to them
Ensures the coordination and maintenance of staff schedules
Oversees the completion and documentation of required staff professional development

OTHER
Maintains a neat and clean work area, free of hazards
Other duties upon request by the immediate supervisor
Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and staff.
Can lift up to 40 lbs.

This role requires a compassionate, flexible individual who is dedicated to the well-being and development of young children. The Child Care Supervisor plays an essential role in supporting the Lead Teacher and creating a safe, engaging learning environment
