Job Description:

Date of Contract: August 18 – November 22, 2025

Position Summary:
The Head Volleyball Coach is responsible for various aspects of the Girls Volleyball Program, such as recruiting within the school, training, and coaching team members. 

Essential Functions:
Manage and supervise athletic activities, contests, and practice sessions, to promote individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, discipline, respect, and good sportsmanship.

Use a variety of instructional techniques and media to meet the needs and improve the abilities of student-athletes in girls' volleyball.

Coordinate the development, promotion, and recruitment of the Girls Volleyball Program.

Hold organizational meetings for team prospects and encourage potential athletes to participate.

Ensure all coaches work together toward a common goal within the girls' volleyball program and provide unity within the youth community programs.

Develop a regular practice schedule and organize practice time to provide both individual and team development.

Assess players’ skills and assign team positions.

Determine game strategy based on the team’s capabilities.

Monitor and enforce student eligibility criteria for extracurricular participation.

Encourage sportsmanlike conduct in all phases of athletic participation at all times.

Take all necessary precautions to protect student-athletes, equipment, and facilities.

Maintain and secure all volleyball equipment and uniforms.

Oversee the process of cleaning, repairing, and storing all athletic equipment.

Maintain nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.

Works with the Athletic Director in scheduling facilities for practices and competitions.
 
Qualifications:
Some experience as a coach is preferred. Must possess effective coaching techniques and skills. Must possess some knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport. Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, parents, and students

Salary (DOE): $8,231.00 - $9,146.00 (based upon 2024-2025 negotiated agreement)
