Job Description:

Central Middle School is looking for a Full-time food service worker in the kitchen.  The ideal candidate will be reliable, and work positively with students and staff. Be skilled in food preparation, safety standards, and basic knowledge of food prep/kitchen equipment.

This job follows the school calendar year and is from 7:30 am - 1:30 pm.

Job Goal: 
To ensure that all students are provided a nutritious breakfast and lunch in a safe and efficient manner.

QUALIFICATIONS
1. Able to meet approved health standards.
2. Possess skills in food preparation for a large number of students and the ability to plan menus in
accordance with food service program guidelines.
3. Know the safety standards of food preparation for a large number of students.
4. Ability to operate food preparation and cleaning equipment and machines.
5. Ability to maintain accurate food service records.
6. Ability to work positively with students and adults in an organizational setting.
7. Reliable in terms of good work attendance and punctuality.

JOB GOAL
To ensure that all students are provided a nutritious breakfast and lunch in a safe and efficient
manner.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assist in planning menus that follow state and federal nutrition guidelines.
2. Assist in ordering necessary food supplies as well as necessary service and preparation
equipment, utensils, etc.
3. Assist in ordering and serving necessary dairy products.
4. Safely and appropriately prepare and serve the daily meals.
5. Effectively clean food preparation machines, equipment, trays, and utensils after each use.
6. Coordinate and direct the work responsibilities and efforts of the student helpers.
7. Participate in regular meetings with the Head Cooks.
8. Attend district-wide safety meetings.
9. Other duties as assigned.

EVALUATION
Performance will be evaluated at least once annually in writing by the building administrator or his/her designee.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Compensation on the basis of hours worked per day at an hourly rate defined by the Superintendent of Schools. The length of the work year is 9 months.
