LAKE AGASSIZ ELEMENTARY SCHOOL - Grand Forks, North Dakota
Starting Date: Immediately
This is a temporary position for the remainder of the 2024-2025 school year.
Education: High school diploma, Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field is preferred
Qualifications: Basic academic and computer skills, ability to work well with students, excellent human relations and communications skills.
Job Goals: Increase student attendance and engagement by working collaboratively with families, students, and school staff. Under general supervision, serves in a liaison capacity between students, school, and home, encourages family involvement and understanding of school programs and objectives, and conferences with family for the purpose of understanding and helping to alleviate the sources of student problems in relation to school attendance, and performs related work as assigned and/or required.
Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
Establish and maintain trusting, collaborative, professional relationships with all constituents.
Collaborate regularly with supervisors, the school principals, or their designees, regarding matters related to student attendance and welfare.
Work with students and their families regarding problems or concerns related to student attendance, and welfare, and make home visits as necessary.
Work closely with all school personnel regarding matters related to student attendance and welfare.
Maintain student confidentiality and the highest ethical standards.
Arrange conferences with families, teachers, and school officials and participate in a liaison capacity
Work closely with school staff in explaining school programs and services to parents and in helping resolve problems that may arise
Assist in encouraging parent involvement with school programs
May assist in the registration of students
Work closely with school staff on student problems affecting regular attendance

Work Environment and Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, walk, and stand. Lift sixty (60) lbs. occasionally, with the ability to reach, stand, walk, carry, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, sit, and/or crawl. The ability to hear and see in order to communicate effectively as well as communicate clearly and concisely. Maintain mental capacity, allowing for effective interaction and communication with others.
Terms of Employment: 30hrs/week, remainder of 2024-2025 school year
Evaluation: Job performance will be evaluated by the Building Administrator.
