Job Description:

Purpose Statement
The Teacher in the RenewEd Program provides flexible learning opportunities for students facing significant challenges in social and emotional regulation. This role requires developing social-emotional and academic lessons and experiences that meet district requirements while aligning with individualized planning and programming developed by student teams.

Supervisory Relationship
Reports to: Program Administrators

Essential Functions
Establish and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders including, but not limited to; students, families, administrators, community agencies 
Provide an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of students 
Provide program support to students accessing and transitioning to and from a smaller setting  
Develop lessons and programming to develop social, academic, and functional skills of students 
Assess student academic skills and performance in on grade level and out-of-grade level standards 
Develop individualized educational programs and instruction with a focus on skill building in collaboration with program staff and school-building teams 
Maintain regular lesson planning and curriculum mapping to communicate the scope and sequence of instruction 
Support curriculum development within the program and at the district level as appropriate 
Provide instruction of expectations and redirection of students within a PBIS structure 
Collaborate with program staff and school building teams on student plan development 
Coordinate and develop a variety of instructional opportunities and activities for the purpose of delivering individualized student instruction in both the school setting and the community 
Maintain a variety of manual and electronic files and/or records for the purpose of providing up-to-date reference and complying with regulatory requirements and established guidelines 
Monitor assigned program activities (e.g. student and intervention data, compliance indicators, progress reporting) 
Assist in the direction and supervision of paraprofessional staff 
Participate in meetings, workshops, training, and seminars (e.g. CPI, MANDT, Faculty Meetings, District Committees as necessary) for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions 
Maintain a plan for continuous professional development through accessing district-provided training

Work Environment
The role involves occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, and crouching, with significant fine finger dexterity. Work typically involves 60% sitting, 20% walking, and 20% standing in a hazard-free environment.

Education
Bachelor’s degree required.

Certificates and Licenses
North Dakota Teaching License - Any area of certification.

Clearances
Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance.
