Job Description:
QUALIFICATIONS:
● Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education, Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Social Work, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred but not required.
● Experience: Prior experience working with students with behavioral challenges, preferably in an educational setting. Experience with FBAs, BIPs, and crisis intervention preferred.
● Optional Certifications: Certification in Behavior Analysis (e.g., Registered Behavior Technician - RBT, Board Certified Behavior Analyst - BCBA), CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) and/or Safety Care training is a plus.
● Skills:
o Strong understanding of behavior management and intervention strategies.
o Ability to work collaboratively with educators, support staff, and families.
o Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
o Proficiency in data collection and analysis to track student progress.
o Patience, adaptability, and a passion for helping students succeed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Implement evidence-based behavior interventions to support student success.
● Collaborate with general and special education staff to develop and implement individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
● Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and collect data on student behavior.
● Provide direct 1:1 or small-group support for students exhibiting challenging behaviors.
● Model and teach appropriate social, emotional, and behavioral skills.
● Support classroom management strategies and assist in crisis intervention when necessary.
● Train and collaborate with teachers and staff on behavior intervention strategies.
● Maintain detailed and accurate records of student progress and behavior interventions.
● Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and school teams regarding student progress and strategies.
● Foster a positive and inclusive school environment that promotes student engagement and success
● School-based setting, working with students in classrooms, small groups, or individually.
● May involve occasional lifting, physical intervention, and de-escalation strategies.
CONTRACT/BENEFITS:
● BASE: Minimum BS $49,027, MS $54,027 or DOE
