Schedule: Mon-Thur. 7:45 - 11:15 a.m. (Elementary), 8:25 - 11:55 a.m. (Secondary)
SUMMARY: The Special Education Paraprofessional – Extended School Year (ESY) works under the supervision of a special education teacher to provide small group instruction to learners during the summer school program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties may be assigned)

Supports the teacher in order to provide additional intervention for learners.
Develops positive, effective working relationships with learners and staff.

Reinforces lessons presented by the teacher by reviewing materials with learners one-on-one or in a small group.

Monitors learners in class, between classes, and during lunch and recess.

Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
Prior experience working with elementary-aged learners is preferred.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions and short correspondences in the English language.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally, expressively, and reactively.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Exercise confidentiality, discretion, and good judgement.
Adhere to the assigned work schedule by maintaining regular and punctual attendance.

Salary: The position is a set $16.95/hr. rate.
