Job Description:

Thompson High School is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable 7-12 Social Studies Teacher to engage students in history, geography, government, and other social sciences. The ideal candidate will create a dynamic learning environment that encourages critical thinking, civic engagement, and a deeper understanding of historical and current events. Responsibilities include lesson planning, classroom management, student assessment, and collaboration with colleagues to support student success.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver engaging lessons aligned with North Dakota state standards
• Foster critical thinking, discussion, and inquiry-based learning in social studies topics
• Assess and track student progress through formative and summative assessments
• Integrate technology and diverse instructional strategies to enhance learning
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administration to support student growth

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Science Secondary Education
• North Dakota Teaching License (or ability to obtain)
• Strong instructional and classroom management skills

TPS offers a competive base salary and the school pays over 20% of TFFR in a 184 day contract.
