Job Description:
Thompson High School is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable 7-12 Social Studies Teacher to engage students in history, geography, government, and other social sciences. The ideal candidate will create a dynamic learning environment that encourages critical thinking, civic engagement, and a deeper understanding of historical and current events. Responsibilities include lesson planning, classroom management, student assessment, and collaboration with colleagues to support student success.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging lessons aligned with North Dakota state standards
- Foster critical thinking, discussion, and inquiry-based learning in social studies topics
- Assess and track student progress through formative and summative assessments
- Integrate technology and diverse instructional strategies to enhance learning
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administration to support student growth
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Science Secondary Education
- North Dakota Teaching License (or ability to obtain)
- Strong instructional and classroom management skills
