Position Summary:
Mandan Public Schools is currently seeking a Special Education Work Experience Instructor. This position will provide instructional and vocational support to high school students having academic, physical, and/or behavioral needs.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Assist students with job exploration.
Organize and facilitate guest speakers to aid in job exploration.
Facilitate student learning about various types of employment, volunteer and job opportunities.
Conduct independent living skill trainings/labs.
Support students in understanding their personal disabilities and how they impact them.
Facilitate awareness of helpful workforce accommodations.
Use individualized positive behavior reinforcement and instruction techniques to keep students on the path toward greatness.
Create and execute individual education plans for each of the students in your care.
Communicate with other staff and family members about each student’s progress and programing needs.
Lead or participate in IEP (individual education plan) meetings as scheduled .
Invite family members to participate in each student’s educational progress.
Create and distribute progress reports.
Create a safe, productive classroom environment.

Qualifications:
Must hold appropriate license from the ND Education Standards and Practices Board with a Special Education Endorsement or eligible for a plan on file.

Position Type: Full-Time

Job Requirements
Bachelor degree preferred.

Salary: Starting $53,800 for Bachelors degree; starting $55,322 for Master's degree. Full benefit package included. Compensation is based on applicable experience. (Salary based on 2023-2025 Negotiated Rates; 2025-2027 Negotiated Rates are yet to be Determined)
