Alternative School Setting Teacher - Wolves Center Academy

Job Summary:
The McKenzie County School District is hiring for an Alternative Setting Teacher. This position is in charge of supervision and coordination of alternative, individual learning plans and programming for high school students in an alternative education setting.The teacher is responsible for establishing an instructional vision and a focused plan for improving student achievement; monitoring and supervising instruction; supporting teachers in improving their instructional practice; creating a community of continuous learning for all staff and students; and fostering a culture of high expectations for all students. In addition, the programs' teacher is charged with building strong partnerships with families and community, creating a safe, supportive school climate, and effectively managing operational, technical and staff issues to promote instructional progress.

Duties Include:

• Getting students signed up for classes
• Working with the counselors on which classes students need for graduation requirements
• Setting up weekly progression goals with students
• Tracking students progress

Equipment
Use standard office equipment such as personal computers, printer, copy machine, and telephone. All teachers are equipped with an Apple MacBook Air laptop and iPad. All classrooms have brand-new BenQ boards, Document Cameras and Audio Enhancement Systems. Device per student ratio is 1:1 for all students district wide.

Qualifications:

• This position requires any teaching license K-12.
• Supervision and Coordination experience preferred

• University of North Dakota: Master Program offered on site in Watford City with three different program tracks. Five Month completion timeline and a 50% grant to cover tuition costs. This program aims to provide Master Level classes to our staff and support rural education systems to build leaders within.
• University of Mary: Watford City office with classes and Master's support.

Salary: $50,500 - $85,120
