Job Description:

MARK SANFORD EDUCATION CENTER - Grand Forks, North Dakota 

Starting Date: Immediately

Education: Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in human resources management, business administration, or related field. Directly related experience may be considered as an equivalent to the education requirements.

Qualifications: Two years of experience in Human Resources

Job Summary: Responsible for managing all aspects of employee benefits programs and leave administration. This role requires a strong understanding of benefits regulations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
Benefits Administration
Manage the day-to-day administration of employee benefit programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, wellness programs, and other fringe benefits.
Coordinate enrollment, changes, and terminations of benefits for employees.
Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries related to benefits programs.
Collaborate with insurance brokers, benefit vendors, and other third-party administrators to resolve issues and optimize benefits offerings.
Conduct periodic reviews and analysis of benefit plans to ensure competitiveness and cost-effectiveness.
 
Leave Management
Administer various types of leaves of absence, including FMLA, ADA, parental leave, sick leave, and other company-specific policies.
Educate employees on leave policies, procedures, and entitlements.
Coordinate leave processes with HR, managers, and employees to ensure compliance with legal requirements and company policies.
Maintain accurate records of employee leave usage, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations.
Monitor and track leave balances, eligibility, and usage to ensure accurate accruals and utilization.
 
Compliance and Reporting
Stay current with federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to employee benefits and leave administration.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, and other relevant legislation.
Prepare and file required government reports, such as Form 5500, ACA filings, and other regulatory disclosures.
Assist in conducting audits and internal reviews to ensure data accuracy and compliance with policies and regulations.
 
Employee Support and Communication
Serve as a trusted resource for employees seeking information or assistance regarding benefits and leave programs.
Develop and deliver employee communications, presentations, and training sessions related to benefits and leave policies.
Provide guidance and support to employees navigating the benefits enrollment process or leave procedures.
Collaborate with HR team members to address employee concerns and resolve issues related to benefits and leave.
 
Work Environment and Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; occasionally walk and stand. The ability to hear and see in order to communicate effectively as well as communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; Maintain effective audio/visual discrimination and perception to the degree necessary for the successful performance of assigned duties; Maintain mental capacity, allowing for effective interaction and communication with others.  Ability to manage emotions and provide emotional support during stressful circumstances.

Terms of Employment: Twelve (12) Months

Evaluation: Annual written evaluation by the Supervisor.
