Job Description:

Jamestown Public School District is accepting applications for Summer Meals Kitchen Assistants at Jamestown High School. 

This is a temporary position working 6am to 1:30pm, Monday through Friday.
Job will start late May/early June and run through the second week of August.

Basic Function: To assist in preparing meals for the summer meals distribution. Assist in handing out meals at different locations on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. 
Duties to be performed:
Prepare and package meals for handout.
Hand out meals to community members.
Assist with dishwashing and clean-up of the kitchen area throughout the day and after meals have been served.
Assists in helping unload truck deliveries.
Receive, put away, rotate, and store items in an appropriate, organized & timely manner.
Report any substandard quality of food received to the Assistant Food Service Director immediately.
Assist in checking expiration dates on all inventory items.
Demonstrate organization and professionalism in fulfilling the responsibilities of the job.
Greet all students, faculty, staff, and visitors courteously.
Cooperate with and work in a courteous manner with co-workers and other personnel.
Dress appropriately for the position and work required as specified by the Assistant Food Service Director. (Hairnet, cap, or wide band must be worn while preparing and serving food this includes aprons and glove use as appropriate)
Accept constructive criticism, feedback, suggestions, and seek to improve performance.
Maintain confidentiality in the school operation.
Adhere to applicable state and federal laws, rules and regulations, board policies and administrative rules.
Specifications/Qualifications: Must have excellent communication skills, a passion for exceeding expectations, and the ability to work in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.
Physical Requirements: Some lifting, bending, standing in one place required. A Kitchen Assistant will have the ability to stand for long periods of time, work as part of a team, and precisely follow health and hygiene practices. Required to follow the guidelines of The National School Lunch Program and The ND Department of Public Instruction.

Starting hourly wage for this position is $16.25/hour.
