Location: Ellendale Public School, Ellendale, ND
Job Type: Full-Time | 10-Month Contract (with additional stipend for extended FFA duties, possible)
Reports To: MS/HS Principal Cindy Rall 

Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic CTE/Agriculture Teacher and FFA Advisor to join our high school faculty. The ideal candidate will inspire and educate students in agriculture, natural resources, and career and technical education (CTE) pathways while also leading a robust FFA chapter. This dual role is vital in preparing students for both post-secondary education and careers in the agricultural industry.

Key Responsibilities:
Instructional Duties:
Develop and deliver engaging, standards-aligned curriculum in agriculture and related CTE pathways.
Teach a variety of agriculture courses such as Ag Science, Animal Science, Plant Science, Agribusiness, Agricultural Mechanics, and Environmental Science.
Incorporate hands-on learning, project-based activities, and supervised agricultural experiences (SAEs).
Integrate employability skills, leadership development, and real-world agricultural practices into instruction.
Maintain accurate and timely records including grades, assessments, and student progress.
FFA Advising:
Serve as the lead advisor for the school's FFA chapter.
Plan and oversee chapter meetings, events, leadership conferences, and competitions.
Support students in developing and maintaining SAEs and preparing for CDEs and LDEs.
Maintain compliance with local, state, and national FFA requirements.
Engage with community stakeholders, including parents, alumni, and local ag industries.
Program Development & Management:
Maintain and manage school farm/lab facilities, greenhouses, and equipment as applicable.
Collaborate with local ag industry partners and post-secondary institutions to enhance student opportunities.
Promote student recruitment and retention within the agriculture/CTE program.
Seek out grants and funding opportunities to support program growth.
 
Qualifications:
Required:
Valid North Dakota teaching credential in Agriculture/CTE or the ability to obtain one.
Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Education, or a related field.
Strong organizational, communication, and classroom management skills.
Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends for FFA events.
Preferred:
Prior experience teaching agriculture or advising FFA.
Experience in agricultural mechanics, animal science, or horticulture.
Familiarity with state/national FFA programs and CTE frameworks.
CDL or willingness to obtain one (if transporting students or animals is required).

Salary based on district salary schedule and experience.
Additional stipend for FFA advisory responsibilities.
