LOCATION: Turtle Mountain Community High School
EVALUATION: As required by BSD #7 policy
Position Overview:
The Head Cheer Coach will lead the Turtle Mountain Community High School cheerleading program, fostering school spirit, promoting teamwork, and mentoring students through positive leadership. The coach is responsible for planning and supervising all cheerleading activities, practices, performances, and competition participation, while ensuring adherence to school policies and athletic regulations.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent • Previous cheerleading coaching experience preferred
Certification/Licenses/Endorsements:
• Must complete NFHS (National Federation of State High School Associations) Coaching Certification or equivalent • Current First Aid/CPR Certification • Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience working with Native American youth • Demonstrated leadership in school-based athletics
Job Expectations:
• Plan, organize, and supervise cheer practices, games, performances, and competitions • Promote student-athlete development through mentoring and character-building • Ensure student safety and adhere to school athletic policies • Manage team logistics including transportation, uniforms, and equipment • Communicate consistently with athletes, parents, administration, and staff

• Demonstrates high integrity, accountability, and professionalism • Serves as a positive role model for students • Dependable and able to maintain a flexible schedule
Communication Skills:
• Able to motivate and lead high school students effectively • Demonstrates respectful, clear, and professional communication with all stakeholders
Computer Skills:
• Basic proficiency with email and documentation tools • Able to manage digital communications and scheduling
RANGE OF SALARY: Based on BSD #7 Extra-Curricular Salary Schedule
