Job Description:

2025-2026 School year; 186 contract days, 100% FTE

Location: Mandan High School

Position Summary:
Provides instruction in the selected areas of Welding Education to ensure that students demonstrate appropriate mastery of standards, gain knowledge and skills essential to the industry, and are prepared for related career and post-secondary opportunities. Instruction on how to use welding technology, techniques, practices and safety. Additional focus on how to use tools, machinery and material properly. Knowledge of project-based instruction of welding concepts.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Assists with preparing students for CTSO competitions and Skills USA.
Advising the student club or CTSO for local & national competitions.

MPS/Heart River CTE Director
 
Qualifications:
Must hold appropriate license from the ND Education Standards and Practices Board OR:
Individual must hold a high school diploma or its equivalent.
Must have a minimum of 4 years (8,000 hours) of progressive work experience in the occupation being taught within the past 8 years.
Credit for up to 2 years (4,000 hours) will be given to those completing an approved specialized postsecondary training program within the past 5 years.
Successful passage of an approved competency examination may be substituted for 1 year (2,000 hours) of work experience.
Applicant must have or be eligible for a North Dakota teaching license or must have or be eligible to be certified by the Department of Career and Technical Education in the area for Technology and Engineering Education. CTE certification must be achieved within two years. Alternative licensure is possible.

Job Requirements
High School/Trade School degree preferred.

Salary: Starting $54,650 for a Bachelor's degree; starting $56,172 for a Master's degree. Full benefit package included.
