Qualifications: Must have a valid CDL license with Air Brake, School Bus & Passenger endorsements. Acceptable driving record and ability to pass an annual drug/alcohol screening. Previous experience as a school bus driver is a plus. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an interest in developing skills in relating to children, parents and staff in a positive manner. 

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
Complete daily pre and post trip inspections of the bus.
Ensure the safety and well-being of all students while on the bus.
Assist students with entering and exiting the bus, if needed.
Communicate effectively with school staff, parents and students regarding schedule changes, behavior issues or delays.
Enforce bus policies and rules.
Adhere to all traffic laws, school district policies and state/federal transportation regulations.
Keep daily records of mileage, incident reports and maintenance needs.
Attend safety training as required by the school district.
Fuel and clean the bus to maintain proper cleanliness and operation.
Complete other duties as assigned by the supervisor 

Work Environment and Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, walk and stand. Lift sixty (60) lbs. occasionally, with the ability to reach, stand, walk, carry, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, sit, and/or crawl. The ability to hear and see in order to communicate effectively as well as communicate clearly and concisely.  Maintain mental capacity, allowing for effective interaction and communication with others. The job is performed under some temperature extremes and under conditions with some exposure to risk of injury and/or illness. 

Terms of Employment: Eleven (11) months, August- June

Hours: 6:30 am-3:30 pm, Monday-Friday when school is in session

Evaluation: Job performance will be evaluated by the Transportation Supervisor.

$22.72 - $28.21 / Hour
