Job Description:

Bismarck Public Schools is now accepting applications for an ED Resource Room Aide at Century High School. 

This position will work from 8:00 am - 3:15 pm and follows the school calendar.

The Behavioral Support Aide works under the supervision of special education staff to provide direct support for students who exhibit behavioral, social-emotional, or self-regulation challenges. This position helps create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment by supporting the implementation of behavior intervention plans, reinforcing social-emotional skills, and promoting student engagement in learning.

Support individual students or small groups in developing self-management, coping, and social skills.

Implement behavior intervention strategies as directed by teachers, counselors, or specialists.

Monitor student behavior and collect data for progress tracking and team decision-making.

Provide positive reinforcement, redirection, and de-escalation support in alignment with school protocols.

Assist students in transitioning between activities, classes, or environments.

Maintain consistent, respectful communication with students to foster trust and positive relationships.

Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to meet student needs and uphold behavior plans.

Support classroom routines and instructional activities to minimize disruptions.

Model appropriate social interactions and problem-solving strategies.

Maintain confidentiality regarding student records and information.

Participate in professional development related to behavior supports, trauma-informed practices, and de-escalation strategies.

Perform other duties as assigned to support student well-being and school success.

Completion of a behavior-focused training program is required for this position.

High School/Trade School degree preferred.
