Location: SWCTE Campus, Building A, Dickinson, ND

Position Overview:
Southwest Area CTE Academy (SWCTE) in partnership with Dickinson Public Schools is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Health Science Teacher to join our team for the 26-27 school year. This full-time position offers the opportunity to teach a variety of health-related courses, and the specific teaching assignment will be determined after hire to best meet the needs of our students and teaching staff. 

Current course offerings include:
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Health Science I
Health Science II
Introduction to Sports Medicine
Medical Terminology
Health Occupation Experience Programs (including dental, pharmacy, and other health related placements)

About SWCTE:
SWCTE is a collaborative partnership of seven high schools in the region, offering cutting-edge technical education programs to students. Qualifications:
Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
Eligible to obtain licensure through the North Dakota Department of Career and Technical Education (CTE) and able to receive a North Dakota Educator's Certificate
Relevant degree or certification in health science or a related field
Instructors shall have a minimum of four years (8,000 hours) of progressive work experience in Health-related career within the past eight years. Successful passage of an approved competency examination may be substituted for one year (2,000 hours) of work experience.
Credit for up to two years (4,000 hours) will be given to those completing an approved specialized postsecondary training program within the past five years. In occupations governed by a licensing agency or board,
Health Sciences instructor shall be graduates of an accredited school in an appropriate health sciences area acceptable to the Department of Career and Technical Education
Health Science Instructor shall complete a minimum of 15 semester hours of the approved Clinical Practice Program (transition to teaching) prior to receiving a five-year certificate
 
Preferred Experience:
Teaching experience or experience in a related educational setting.
Knowledge of current health science practices and trends in healthcare
Ability to collaborate effectively with industry partners and offer relevant certifications in health-related fields.     

Responsibilities:
Teach a variety of health science courses to high school students
Develop and implement effective instructional plans and assessments.
Foster a positive, engaging learning environment.
Work closely with CTE Directors, administration, all CTE faculty, and industry partners
Participate in professional development opportunities and collaborate with colleagues on curriculum and course offerings.
Support students' personal and professional growth in the health science fields.
