Job Description:

POSITION OVERVIEW
Title: 6-12 Curriculum Coordinator
Responsible To: Assistant Superintendent
Goal: To assist the Assistant Superintendent in providing leadership in curriculum, instruction, assessment, and staff development, with an elevated focus on driving district-wide technological innovation.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Requires a bachelor's degree in education.
Licensure: A valid North Dakota teaching license.
Experience: Minimum five years of K-12 teaching experience.
Leadership: Experience providing professional development to adult learners.
Technical Proficiency: Strong foundation in curriculum and data management systems.

PRIMARY PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
I. Curriculum Development & Management: Facilitate curriculum review processes and provide ongoing support. 
Curriculum Review: Facilitate the curriculum review process for all content areas.
Facilitate professional learning related to the review.
Facilitate textbook and/or resource adoptions.
Implementation: Monitor years 2 and 3 of curriculum implementation to ensure effective implementation and provide support.
Manage Resources: Track district purchased instructional resources and manage staff access

II. Technology & Innovation Leadership
Strategic Oversight: Assist the District Technology Leadership Committee and drive the innovative use of technology to improve student learning.
Emerging Tech: Research and support implementation of district-wide strategies for Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cyber Security.
Standards Integration: Support the integration of Computer Science and Technology Standards into the core curriculum.
Resource Management: Lead instructional technology resource management and provide specialized training for staff.
Digital Literacy: Facilitate curriculum and training related to digital citizenship.

III. Professional Development & Coaching Support
Staff Training: Assist with planning, implementing, and evaluating staff development days and specific district training initiatives.
Onboarding: Coordinate with the Assistant Superintendent, principals, and instructional coaches to facilitate New Teacher Orientation and Onboarding.
Mentoring:  Provide training and support for district mentors.
Coaching:  Serve as a collaborative partner for instructional coaches.
Credential Support: Act as a Cooperating Teacher for staff members working toward teaching degrees.

IV. Strategic & Course-Specific Initiatives: Provide support to principals on Strategic Initiatives 
Cross-Building Collaboration: Facilitate cross-building collaboration (e.g., 8th and 9th-grade teacher collaboration for Algebra I).
EL Leadership: Work with EL teachers to design annual training for integrating EL strategies and support the district's Lau Plan.
Transitions: Support student transitions from 8th to 9th grade.

V. Assessment & Data
Data Analysis: Assist with the collection and analysis of data to plan professional development and monitor student growth.
Assessment Tools: Support teachers in understanding ND A+ interim assessment data and navigating the Navvy platform.

VI. District Priorities
RTI Support: Provide as-needed support for RTI.
District Frameworks: Support district practices related to Professional Learning Communities (PLC) and High Reliability Schools (HRS).

TERMS & EVALUATION
Terms: Salary and benefits as determined by the Board of Education in accordance with the Negotiated Agreement.
Evaluation: A performance review will be conducted annually by the Assistant Superintendent.
