Job Description:

Lake Region Special Education (LRSE) has a part-time position available for a COTA. LRSE includes 12 school districts in and near Devils Lake, ND.  

Responsibilities include: Providing direct therapy to students with special needs, under the supervision of OTR.  Carry out therapy programs outlined by the therapist following instructions by the therapist. These programs will include but are not limited to: fine motor, visual motor, perceptual motor, sensory motor, self-care, and gross motor.  Attend student staffing at the request of OTR, teachers, parents.  Meet with therapist weekly to discuss programs, student’s progress, etc.  Chart individual progress under the direction of OTR.  Provide therapy schedule to all schools with students being served.  Update/Chart students IEP’s.  Order materials/equipment as needed for students with unique needs.  Maintain current student data forms throughout the school year.  Track OT/PT materials checked out to staff members, provide in-services upon request, and meet with program coordinators on students in their supervising schools.

Qualifications: Graduate from an accredited college in Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant; Licensed by the National Board for Certified Occupational Therapy (NBCOT); Licensed by the North Dakota State Board of Occupational therapy; and pass all background and fingerprint checks. 

Salary: $21.00 – $ 38.00 (Hourly)    $3,000.00 stipend is available.
