St. Mary's Academy Coaching Positions - Football/Volleyball/Basketball

St. Mary’s Academy is seeking passionate and committed individuals to serve as coaches across our athletic programs. Positions may be filled at the head or assistant level, depending on experience and program needs. Academy coaches play a vital role in developing student-athletes within a Christ-centered environment, supporting both individual growth and the long-term success of our athletic programs.

Position Overview:
Academy coaches are responsible for leading and supporting all aspects of the middle school program, including team instruction, skill development, and alignment with the high school program. Coaches will foster a positive, inclusive, and competitive environment that emphasizes fundamentals, teamwork, sportsmanship, and academic responsibility.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and lead practices and competitions
  • Support the overall development and continuity of the program
  • Establish and model a clear vision and philosophy for student-athlete development
  • Teach sport-specific skills, strategies, and fundamentals aligned with the high school program
  • Promote leadership, character, and virtue in student-athletes
  • Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, coaches, and administration
  • Monitor and support student-athlete academic progress
  • Ensure compliance with school and activity association policies
  • Supervise travel, equipment, and game-day operations
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and positive team environment

Qualifications:

  • Previous coaching experience preferred (middle school or high school level)
  • Strong knowledge of sport-specific fundamentals and player development
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and motivate student-athletes
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Light of Christ
