Job Summary:
Assist the classroom teacher with instruction and classroom activities.
Assist students with disabilities under the supervision of special education/general education teachers and building administrators.

High school courses will be held June 1 – July 2, 2026.
Time: 7:45 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Assist in carrying out activities to achieve goals and objectives listed in the students’ Individual Educational Plans (IEPs).
Assist students in instructional activities, curriculum modification, and adaptations with the planning and supervision of the classroom teacher and/or special education teacher.
Assist with the tracking of student progress through data collection.
Work with computers and other adaptive assistive technology (AT) equipment to aid in student learning.
Supervise students individually and in small and large groups with the planning and direction of the classroom teacher and/or special education teacher.
Assist in the provision of accommodations and adaptations.
Assist students in developing self‑management skills.
Assist teachers in classroom management and in carrying out positive behavior support plans.
Partner with the classroom teacher in monitoring the classroom to minimize distractions and disruptions to promote learning.
Assist students in other ways as assigned by supervisors.
Assist students in loading and unloading safely from buses and in drop‑off and pick‑up zones.
Participate in professional development, including program‑specific training and behavioral de‑escalation, to acquire specific skills needed to perform responsibilities.
Promote learning environments that are student‑centered, safe, and supportive through effective communication and relationship‑building.
Maintain a high level of ethical behavior.
Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the district supervisor.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, walk, and stand. 

The employee must be able to:
Lift sixty (60) pounds occasionally.
Reach, stand, walk, carry, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, sit, and/or crawl.
Hear and see in order to communicate effectively, and communicate clearly and concisely.
Maintain the mental capacity necessary to allow for effective interaction and communication with others.
The job is performed under some temperature extremes and under conditions with some exposure to risk of injury and/or illness.

Evaluation:
Job performance will be evaluated by the supervising teacher and building administrator.
