Job Summary
Under the direction of the Business Manager, perform accounting and business operations functions for the school district. This position serves as a key accounting resource for the Business Office, supporting grant management, financial reporting, audit preparation, and compliance activities. The role works collaboratively with the district and schools to ensure accurate accounting and compliance when using federal, state, and local funds.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Record and maintain journal entries, including:
Self-funded health insurance
Child Nutrition revenue recognition
Month- and year-end payroll accruals
Adjusting entries as needed
Manage cash and treasury functions, including reconciliation of bank, Square, and My School Bucks accounts.
Process and post deposits for District, SBA, and Child Nutrition programs, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Maintain fixed asset records for the school district.
Support the grant budgeting process by providing compensation and benefit forecasting to Grant Management Coordinators and district leadership.
Track and report time and effort as required by grants.
Generate monthly financial reports for Grant Management Coordinators, school administrators, and other stakeholders.
Provide assistance to the Payroll and Accounts Payable departments on routine accounting and reporting requirements.
Assist the Business Manager with operation of the school district computer system and the training of district personnel using the financial and employee management systems.
Assist with the audit process.
Communicate, collaborate, and cooperate with colleagues, federal and state agencies, and public organizations.
Stay current on changes in accounting standards, state and federal regulations, and reporting requirements applicable to school districts.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Terms of Employment
Twelve (12) months
Full-time, Monday through Friday
Occasional evening hours required
Evaluation
Annual written evaluation by the Accounting Lead.
Base Pay
$66,331.2 - $82,368.00 / Year
