Qualifications
Valid CDL license with:
Air Brake endorsement
School Bus endorsement
Passenger endorsement
Acceptable driving record
Ability to pass an annual drug and alcohol screening
Previous experience as a school bus driver preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Interest in developing skills in relating to children, parents, and staff in a positive manner
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus.

Ensure the safety and well-being of all students while on the bus.

Assist students with entering and exiting the bus, as needed.

Communicate effectively with school staff, parents, and students regarding:
Schedule changes
Behavior issues
Delays
Enforce bus policies and rules.

Adhere to all traffic laws, school district policies, and state/federal transportation regulations.

Keep daily records of:
Mileage
Incident reports
Maintenance needs
Attend safety trainings as required by the school district.

Fuel and clean the bus to maintain proper cleanliness and operation.

Complete other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Work Environment and Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to:

Sit, walk, and stand
Lift up to sixty (60) pounds occasionally
Reach, stand, walk, carry, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, sit, and/or crawl
Hear and see in order to communicate effectively
Communicate clearly and concisely
Maintain mental capacity that allows for effective interaction and communication with others
The job is performed under some temperature extremes and under conditions with some exposure to risk of injury and/or illness.
