{{{$10,000 SIGNING BONUS}}} Dickinson Public Schools is now hiring Elementary Special Education Resource Room Teachers LOCATION: Jefferson Elementary Lincoln Elementary

SUMMARY: Responsible for scheduling, planning instruction, and/or adaptation of the education program to enable students to benefit from educational experiences. This position is focused on students with disabilities in the areas of ED, ID, and Autism. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Strong background in positive behavioral supports. High interest in serving students with complex behaviors and needs. Strong communication skills both expressive and receptive. Bachelor’s degree in education with elementary education preferred. North Dakota Teaching License with special education endorsement required PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of current programming trends in special education. Working knowledge of functional behavior assessments and behavior intervention plans. Experience in supervising paraprofessionals.

SALARY AND BENEFITS: This position is eligible for benefits including PTO, health, dental, vision, and life insurance, etc. Salary is determined off the 2019-2021 Professional Negotiated Agreement. The salary range is $45,459 - $74,535 depending on education and experience. Signing bonus of $10,000 to be paid over two years.

We have almost 4,000 students enrolled in Grades K-12. Our average class size for Elementary is 21 students. Special Education Students account for 15% of the student population. We have 140 English Language Learners, speaking 24 different languages. Our Middle and High School students are offered almost 190 courses and over 40 extra and co-curricular opportunities including music groups, academic competitions and sporting activities. Since 2009, Dickinson Public Schools has grown by over 1,200 students. While growth has slowed, we are projecting an increase of almost 500 students by 2023. Our goal is to continue to hire team members who are well-educated and inspired to serve all students.
