Job Description:

Souris Valley Special Services unit is looking for a Special Education Consultant to begin in the fall of 2026. SVSS is looking for a widely adaptable, independent, and self-motivated individual who positively promotes the vision and goals of the Unit.

Position Summary and Responsibilities:
Souris Valley Special Services unit provides training, monitoring, and assistance to 18 school districts. The successful candidate will work cooperatively within the 18 school districts, collaborating with other staff within SVSS to provide services that meet the unit goals, trainings, and monitoring needs.

 Qualifications:
1. Special Education Degree, Special Education Strategist or equvialent Special Education Degree

Required:
1. Must have a vehicle and current driver’s license.
2. Operational knowledge of NDDPI Guidelines and IDEA Regulations.
3. Evidence of strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
4. Evidence of strong interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to attend trainings in the field of special education; and
6. Ability to travel daily throughout the school year.

Desired:
1. In addition to a Special Education degree, experience in LD is preferred, but not required. 
2. Positive working relationships with general and special educators, parents,
and co-workers
